My work with small businesses has been shaped by years of direct engagement with entrepreneurs, market traders, women-owned businesses and grassroots enterprises.
Through financial literacy, business development and enterprise-support initiatives, I have worked with business owners facing practical challenges around financial records, separating personal and business finances, access to formal financial services and adoption of digital business tools.

Building Better Business Records
One of the practical interventions was the introduction of the Simple Books of Records, designed to help small business owners develop the habit of recording sales, expenses and other important business information in an accessible way.
This experience reinforced an important lesson that continues to influence my work today: digital transformation does not always begin with technology. It often begins by helping business owners understand the information they need to run their businesses effectively.
